The panel was first posted online to Tumblr as early as July 2021 and was further popularized as a meme in late 2024 through early 2025, becoming the subject of redraws that year. The image has also been used as an image macro format. Purportedly, the panel comes from a story titled "The Man Hunter" in Archie's Girls Betty and Veronica issue 235, published on June 30th, 1975."
