Characters from the novel "The Trial" by Franz Kafka: Uncle Albert K. K.'s impetuous uncle from the countryside. He is K.'s link to his family, and was once his guardian. It is during his visit that the protagonist's family tension develops, moving between respect and disgust. It is the uncle who finally gets K. to take charge of his trial and assume an active role in it, hiring Huld as his lawyer and advising him sternly as to his conduct towards the various characters surrounding the court, with whom he insists that he must have enormous respect.
